Joseph Janiszewski
I live in Snells Beach with my wife and three children. Among my responsibilities as a deputy principal, I enjoy supporting staff to create captivating writing programs and run a writers café for college students. I have received a Highly Commended, been shortlisted and won third place in short story competitions. I have attempted one novel and have written about twenty short stories. My goals are to complete an anthology of short stories intitled 'Better a Warm Hand' which chronicles a fictionalised account of my Polish grandparents' experiences of WW2 and immigration to New Zealand, a novel about a North Korean gymnast and a Upper Middle Grade Historical novel that could serve as an engaging onramp for intermediate learners into the content of the new NZ histories curriculum.
