Karen Holdom

New Zealand author paddling about in the wide open seas of pitching a first novel. Second novel on its way. Third is bubbling away in the shadows.

Taranaki-born, former New Zealand Herald news reporter and later freelance writer for a wide range of national and international magazines and newspapers, Karen Holdom made the switch to fiction writing five years ago. In 2018 she completed a Master of Creative Writing and her thesis, the first 40,000 words of The Boy from in-Between, won the prize for Best Manuscript. She lives in Auckland and is married with three sons and a fur-child.
