Karen Triggs
Hi
My name is Karen. I have always loved education and learning and late in my career I gained a BA through Massey University in English and Sociology. My primary interest and focus for some years has been photography, and recently I have studied and gained my NZ Diploma in Photography through SIT on-line learning, and LPSNZ distinction from the NZ Photographic Society.
I love all kinds of photography - particularly street photography - I love the opportunites I have to meet people through my photography and have heard many glorious stories - stories filled with humour, stories of heart-wrenching sadness and all those stories in between. I recently came across a quote by Street Photographer, Gus Powell, who said street photography is filled with nouns and verbs. Most photographs are nouns - they show what something looks like - it's a house, a person, an animal, a flower, or a car... but GREAT pictures are the verbs - they are alive - something's happening in the four corners of the photograph which only happend then!
So, for some reason, now is my time to write... I have many ideas floating around in my head; I just need to throw out the net and gather in all the nouns and verbs and make a story, not just in pictures but in words.
