Lynne Wilkins
Lynne Wilkins has maintained an "underground" presence for many years in the creative sector as a musician, and writer of songs, poetry and short stories. She acknowledges the significant range of skills gained from forty years of technical writing in her "visible" career as a chartered accountant. Due to the rapid advancement in technology which was gaining traction in the early nineteen-eighties, Wilkins was involved in a number of financial management projects, producing the procedural documentation, training guidelines, and policy manuals required for a range of businesses, and entities in the tertiary education and health sectors. Occasional freelance contributions to financial publications caught the eye of the editor of one particular business editor, and a monthly column became part of Wilkins' writing career for many years. In the nineteen nineties, through her association the creative arts sector Wilkins noticed the gap between hobby and business models, and wrote workshop and online resources that were delivered through various organisations around the North Island.
Combining her ability to research and write for a wide range of readers, together with the skills gained through completing a post-graduate paper in Creative Writing at Waikato University, Lynne Wilkins is making the most of her retirement from her accounting career, with several writing projects underway.
