Brian Dillon-Phillips is a novelist based in Nelson, having finally stopped chasing a more traditional career in Wellington.
 
He knew he wanted to write novels from a very young age, but the stars only aligned for that recently. Until they did, he spent his time honing his craft in part by writing short stories (and tinkering with longer works), and in part by working in various jobs that made use of the same skills.
 
He has written media releases, advertorials, technical and instructional documents, web content (for government organisations with websites containing thousands of pages), organisational histories, news articles, editorials and more. He even wrote a jingle for a technology company, and put together a number of obituaries for the professional organisation to which several of the victims of the Christchurch earthquake belonged.
 
Brian graduated from Canterbury University in the early 1990s with a couple of degrees in Psychology, and completed Owen Marshall’s writing course in Timaru just before the turn of the century. He has had his short fiction published in takahē (where he worked as a sub-editor in 2000-2001), Write Now magazine, and in the commemorative volumes for various competitions.
 
Since 2017, he has been fortunate enough to write fiction full time, and has now completed more than 30 novels. He publishes under pen names, via Amazon, and has collected a steady stream of bestseller tags.
