Margaret Mills
Margaret Mills was born in Stratford, Taranaki in 1929 in the year of the infamous
stock market crash that began the great depression. Over her long life she has had
many vocations: waitress, farmer, postie, house wife, mother, chef,
political activist, ship’s cook, and world traveller. In 2021, at the age of
ninety-one, she added debut author to that list with the publication of her critically
acclaimed historical novel, The Nine Lives of Kitty Kay.
Soon to be published Anecdotage is her second
literary work and memoir. She lives on her tūrangawaewae beside the Forest and
Bird reserve on Waiheke Island.
