Megan Bell
Growing up on a Tadmor farm, Megan spent many nights peeking through the curtains at the magical rural nightscape – mountains, moon and stars - imagining what it would be like to walk out of the door and just keep going, until the mountain top was reached. A full career working with children kept that magical curiosity and connection with the natural world alive. Now at mid-life, the big question about what to do with this one wild and precious life? as posed by Mary Oliver, looms as large as ever.
Megan has two wonderful adult daughters out in the world and a young son still in the family home in Mohua/Golden Bay, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Writing poetry has become a profound form of expression for her – a “voice” with which to process experiences, emotions and relationships. “Padfoot” is a big, super loving dog named Flynn, who, along with cat Ellie, is a Very Important Pet, providing excellent company on many adventures. Megan's poetry and prose is raw, vulnerable, accessible and viewed through a lens rich in philosophy shaped from Buddhist teachings.

On Her Journey
A Collection of Poems, self-published in March 2022, based around my observations and experiences as a woman, navigating my way through life, relationships, societal "norms" and expectations, and most pivotally, my relationship with myself. Challenging modern culture and encouraging a return to presence in self; in nature; in life and one's own truth. A raw, authentic journey, designed to resonate with and connect people.
