Naomi Arnold is an award-winning freelance journalist who has written for most New Zealand magazines and newspapers. She is the author, editor, or co-author of six non-fiction books including the 2026 Ockham-shortlisted Northbound: Four Seasons of Solitude on Te Araroa; the 2025 Ockham-longlisted conservation history Force of Nature, with David Young and Forest & Bird; and the 2019 astronomy history Southern Nights.
