Rachel lives in Dunedin and has published short-stories in Semaphore, Moon-Drenched Fables and The School Journal. In 2012 she was short listed for the Tom Fitzgibbon Award and was the winner of the Tessa Duder Award. Her first novel, A Necklace of Souls, the first of the SoulNecklace Stories, was published in 2013 by HarperCollins. A Necklace of Souls was shortlisted for the Sir Julius Vogel Awards, is a Storylines Notable Book and was awarded Best First Novel at the 2014 New Zealand Post Book Awards. In 2014 Waverley Productions published Inner Fire and in 2015 they published A Skillful Warrior, the second of the SoulNecklace Stories, and The Prankster and the Ghost.
