Rangi Faith

Winner of the 2024 Caselberg Trust International Poetry Prize with the poem 'The Valley Where Compassion Died'. Presently I have retired from teaching to write fulltime. I have written several books - including "Conversation with a Moahunter" (Steele Roberts, 2005), and 'Rivers Without Eels' (Huia Publishers, 2001). Other books I have written include a teacher resource book on early Maori - "Technology of the Maori" (Curriculum Concepts, 2004) and fishing articles in "NZ Troutfisher". Interests include reading, rugby, tramping, New Zealand art, music, and fishing. John Denny of Puriri Press in Auckland published my latest book "Spoonbill 101". My poetry explores both European and Maori histories, and I have appeared in several recent anthologies and collections.
