Ray Caird's first major book  BLOOD of the FLAX (2019)is a quirky, visual, cross-genre work which received critical acclaim by authors such as:

Forged in the 1960s activism of student politics Ray Caird MA Hons (History) Canterbury, worked as a Television and Radio journalist before becoming Editor of the fortnightly national farming publication Straight Furrow

He then joined the corporate consultancy world and authored publications such as:

How to Handle the Media,

A Guide to Getting Involved

and articles in Management magazine.

Ray and his young family escaped to a lifestyle block alongside Abel Tasman National Park .

From there he founded the Abel Tasman Educational Trust and became President of the Nelson Kiwifruit Growers Association.

Since then he has been a Company Director and a Trustee of the Nelson Bays Heritage Trust.
