Rochelle has written and performed for theatre, television, film and radio. She was part of Victoria University’s Undergraduate Creative Writing course in 1999 with Bill Manhire and Harry Ricketts and was awarded an Honourable Mention for the Lilian Ida Smith Award in 2017 and The Robert Lord Cottage Residency in November 2019. Her comedy group Laura Get Your Gun, with Mel Johnston, got 3rd in the 1995 University Comedy Competition just ahead of the Wellington group featuring Bret McKenzie, Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. She hopes this will not be her biggest claim to fame. She is currently focused on writing novels and plays.
