Sandra Russell

Sandra emigrated to Auckland from the UK with her family 20 years ago. She built up a thriving psychotherapy practice when, aged 53, she was diagnosed with incurable cancer. This devastating and traumatic event compelled her to write about the largely invisible emotional impact of living with cancer. The Feeling of Cancer was completed as part of Masters of Creative Writing at AUT (first class hons - Dean's List) and brings together her areas of expertise as a graduate of Master of Health Science (first class hons) and English Lit (first class hons). However, this is not an academic book, but a human story told with depth and from the heart.
