In Towards the Mountain, Sarah uncovers her grandfather's journey home to New Zealand following the Erebus Disaster. Myles interweaves the story of her grandfather, who died on the ill-fated 1979 flight to Antarctica, with those of his fellow passengers and the first responders. A very personal reflection on the legacy of grief, and the possibility of hope, forty years on from the crash.
Shortlisted for the 2020 Ockham NZ Books Awards. She also received a 2018 NZ Society of Authors mentorship and received a Lilian Ida Smith Award Honourable Mention for her work on Erebus.
