Shona-Ellen Barnett lives in Waihi, close to nature. She has a passion for poetry and her work has been published in various anthologies over the years, her latest publication in Huia Short Stories 16 and was a finalist in the Pikihuia Awards 2025. Shona-Ellen writes contemporary poetry and fiction, has a BA in English Literature, is an editor and facilitator of writing groups and workshops (including Lines & Lyrics Tauranga and the Coast to Coast section of NZ Romance Writers). She has a particular interest in mentoring new writers who have difficult life challenges.
