I am the award-winning author of over twenty books, novels, short stories, poetry and non-fiction published in New Zealand and elsewhere. I co-founded the Auckland Writers' Festival, have taught creative writing at tertiary level and review fiction for various magazines and websites.  I very much enjoy manuscript assessing and mentoring writers at all stages of the development of projects. My most recent book is 'Obligate Carnivore', published in 2025. In 2022 I received the Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement in Fiction.
