I am the author of over twenty books - novels, short stories, poetry and non-fiction. I co-founded the Auckland Writers' Festival, have taught creative writing at tertiary level and review fiction for various magazines and websites. In 2020, Anne Kennedy and I established Writing Works Aotearoa, a mentoring and ms assessment service. We welcome any enquiries from NZSA members in any genre.

My most recent novel is 'Kind', published in 2023. My previous novel 'Everything Changes' won the 2021 NZSA Heritage Literary Award. In 2022 I received the Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement in Fiction.
