Tessa McEwing

Tessa McEwing is a writer and director based in New Zealand, with a diverse background in content creation, creative direction, and media. She has worked in a range of roles, from creative director to social media coordinator, and holds a Diploma in Film and Television, specialising in Script Writing and Drama Directing. In 2017, Tessa wrote and directed a short film called Body, which explores the struggles of a girl with body dysmorphia. The film was partially funded by the Auckland Arts Grant and was accepted into the High Falls Film Festival in New York. Whether it’s poetry, novels, or scriptwriting, Tessa loves all forms of writing and hopes to work across all creative platforms in the future. In her work, she explores themes of loss, trauma, personal growth, and the supernatural, drawing from both personal experiences and her love of creating compelling narratives. When she’s not writing, Tessa continues to pursue creative projects that combine her skills in both film and storytelling.
