Thom Conroy

Thom Conroy is the author of The Salted Air and The Naturalist (Penguin Random-House) and the editor of the essay collection Home (Massey University Press). The winner of the Katherine Anne Porter Fiction Prize, he has published short fiction widely in literary journals in The United States, New Zealand, and Australia, including New England Review, Kenyon Review, Agni, and Landfall. His short story ‘The Evening’s Peace’ was noted in Best American Short Stories 2011. Thom is a senior lecturer in Creative Writing at Massey University, and he serves as Chief Editor of the lit journal Headland. He was also thrilled to serve as the convenor for the 2025 Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction.
