Richard Jakob-hoff

I have published extensively in the scientific literature relating to my professional fields of wildlife health and conservation medicine. Publications include peer reviewed papers, several book chapters and as lead editor and author of the technical book A Manual of Procedures for Wildlife Disease Risk Analysis published jointly by the IUCN Species Survival Commission and the World Organisation for Animal Health.

Now retired from paid employment I am close to completing of my memoir "Wild Voices - answering the call". The blurb reads:

"What if the key to healing our planet lies in listening- -not just with our ears, but with our hearts?
In Wild Voices, wildlife veterinarian Richard Jakob-Hoff invites readers on an extraordinary journey through remote wilderness, close encounters with rare and endangered species, and the quiet wisdom of a life spent in service to nature. From a life-changing moment with a protective cow to the epic recovery of the world's rarest duck on Campbell Island, Jakob-Hoff weaves science, storytelling, and spirit into a powerful call to reconnect with the "pild Toice" within us all.
With warmth, humility, and deep ecological insight, this book celebrates the people often unsung-who dedicate their lives to restoring balance to Earth's most fragile ecosystems. It is a story of hope, interconnection, and the profound intelligence of the natural world.
If you've ever wondered what it means to truly belong to the living planet, Wild Voices is a gentle, urgent invitation to remember."
