I am incredibly pleased to announce that Boosted X Moana, Aotearoa’s leading Pasifika arts crowdfunding initiative has officially opened registrations for it’s third funding cohort.

Now in its fifth year, the programme supported by Creative New Zealand’s Pacific strategy team, has raised more than $1m with Pasifika creatives and continues to support creative projects through strategic mentorship and match funding.

The first two cohorts for this year raised $223,234 and supported projects such as films, theatre works, siva afi, tapa cloth creation and creative talanoa sessions.

As we head into our third cohort we have 10 x, $3,000 in match funds that will be allocated to Pasifika-led arts projects, providing a total of $30,000 in matched support.

Applications are now open to eligible creatives working across all artistic disciplines who are ready to activate a crowdfunding campaign.

Key Dates – Cohort 3:

• Registrations Open: 7 July 2025
• Registrations Close: 19 July 2025
• Campaign Period: 11 August – 11 September 2025

Who Can Apply

Projects must be:

• Led by Pasifika artists or demonstrate a strong Pasifika kaupapa
• Ready to launch and deliver a crowdfunding campaign within the campaign period
• Priority consideration will be given to projects involving international travel or invitations to global arts festivals.
• This opportunity is open to a wide range of creative practices, including performance, visual arts, film, fashion, digital storytelling, and more.
