Brown Ink Submissions

Our Brown Ink development programme is looking for Māori and Pasifika writers with the best new and original work. The programme offers the selected playwrights a development workshop with a professional script advisor and actors dedicated to helping develop their play.

Previous plays selected for Brown Ink development include Hemo is Home by Tainui TukiwahoStill Life with Chickens by DF MameaHyperspace by Albert Belz, The Mooncake the the Kūmara by Mei Lin Te Puea Hansen, Girl on a Corner by Victor Rodger and Au Ko Tuvalu by Tavita Nielsen-Mamea.

Submissions can only be entered into this programme once and you may enter a maximum of three scripts per year. Plays entered under this programme may have been previously produced but may not be currently receiving other development assistance.
