The Brown Ink development programme is looking for Māori and Pasifika writers with the best new and original work. The programme offers playwrights a development workshop with a professional script advisor and actors dedicated to helping you develop your play.
Previous plays selected for Brown Ink development include Still Life with Chickens by DF Mamea, The Mooncake and the Kumara by Mei Lin Te Puea Hansen, Girl on a Corner by Victor Rodger, I Ain’t Mad Atcha by Turene Jones and Au Ko Tuvalu by Tavita Nielsen-Mamea.
Submissions can only be entered into this programme once and you may enter a maximum of three scripts. Plays entered under this programme may have been previously produced but may not be currently receiving other development assistance.
Submissions are through their website and are open until 15 September 2021.
