CLNZ | NZSA Secondary School Leavers Scholarship 2026 – application form

The CLNZ | NZSA Secondary School Leavers Scholarship 2026 is proudly brought to you by the New Zealand Society of Authors (NZSA) and Copyright Licensing New Zealand (CLNZ).

These five annual scholarships are designed to nurture and support the next generation of Aotearoa New Zealand’s writers. Five grants of $2,000 each will be split between the successful student and their school. It will be awarded to promising young writers selected from their entries to an annual competition, to help them pursue their passion for writing, develop their skills, establish a foundation for a career in the literary field, with planned enrolment to an arts degree or similar at a tertiary institution on completion of their secondary schooling.

The scholarship is funded by a portion of the revenue from the Copyright Licensing New Zealand (CLNZ) Cultural Fund. The fund’s primary objectives are:
• to protect writers’ ability to earn revenue from their works,
• support the creation of new works, and
• promote growth and skills in the industry.

Each school can apply with up to 2 students for this scholarship.
