The Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival, Dunedin’s biennial celebration for readers, writers, and thinkers, has two fixed-term contract positions available for the 2021 festival in May.
The Festival is a vibrant boutique programme of storytelling, conversation, and live performance, a long weekend of immersion in the pleasure of the written word and examining ideas.
Both positions report to the Festival Director and are Dunedin-based over a period of approximately four months from mid-January until late May.

The Events Coordinator works closely with the Festival Director to ensure our guests have a great time and the festival runs smoothly. You have a sharp eye for logistical detail and confidence dealing with all kinds of people. Experience running events is essential and festival experience is a plus.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the public visibility of all Festival events to increase audience participation and engagement, and to help the Festival Director make sure our partners are well looked after. You have a creative mind, and are quick to see all the angles and turn them into stories. Social media campaign experience is essential, and established relationships with local and national media are a plus.
