Turning the Page: NZSA AGM and Development Weekend

A chance to meet other members, take part in shaping the direction of NZSA for the year ahead and participate in stimulating and informative workshops, presentations and panel discussions. Hosted this year in Auckland there are a range of events for all.

Wine and nibbles provided. The 2018 Graeme Lay Short Story Competition winner will also be announced. To include a welcome from NZSA President, Siobhan Harvey, and guest speaker, publisher Nicola Legat.

Saturday 26 May, 1pm – 5pm
Writers Development Opportunities
Venue: Ellen Melville Centre, Auckland City
Cost: $20 per session or $50 to attend three
All workshops have restricted numbers so register early to avoid disappointment

Enjoy an afternoon of stimulating and informative workshops, presentations and panel discussions. With the choice of nine events over three time slots there is much to inspire, encourage and challenge.

These development opportunities are open to anyone with a passion for writing, regardless of your skill or experience. Non-NZSA members are welcome to attend this section of the weekend so please spread the word among your writing groups and friends.

The AGM Gala Dinner
Venue: Wine Chambers, Shortland St.
Cost: $75
Restricted to 60 diners – register early to avoid disappointment

Taking place in this high quality restaurant in one of Auckland’s historic building, there is a set three course menu (with vegetarian and vegan options) and a complimentary glass of wine for all diners.
NZSA President of Honour, Bernard Brown will MC and noted satirist, writer, columnist and publisher, Steve Braunias, will be the guest speaker.  Courtney Sina Meredith will read poetry between courses.  A literary evening not to be missed.
