The 78th World Science Fiction Convention—CoNZealand—is coming to Wellington from 29 July to 2 August 2020. Over 2,000 fans, publishers, and speculative fiction writers will descend on New Zealand. Members will be able to vote on, and attend, the Hugo Awards for best science fiction and fantasy works of 2019. New Zealand’s Sir Julius Vogel Awards will also take place at the convention.
There are four important ways you can get involved right now:
- Become a member so you can attend: https://conzealand.nz/registrations
- Become a volunteer; the entire event is not-for-profit and volunteer run: https://conzealand.nz/conzealand-needs/volunteers
- If you’re a member, offer to be a programme participant (talk on a panel etc): https://conzealand.nz/programme-participants
- Suggest panels and programming items you want to see: https://conzealand.grenadine.co/conzealand/form/Ideas1
With George RR Martin as Toastmaster, and Mercedes Lackey and more as Guests of Honour, it will be a once in a lifetime experience!
