Melinda Szymanik is an award-winning children’s author of picture books, novels and short stories. 2014 University of Otago Children’s Writer in Residence, reviewer, creative writing teacher and blogger/commentator, Melinda will discuss her own writing journey over the last 20 years, the current state of children’s publishing in New Zealand, opportunities for your work, and survival techniques in a difficult climate.
