New Zealand’s premiere comic book store Heroes for Sale is hosting memoh.’s debut graphic novel launch at their Symonds Street location.
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, MAY 6, 2025 – “Who are you willing to damn for power?” Centred on this haunting question, the new YA fantasy-romance comic Dominion is coming to bookstores across New Zealand on 21 May 2025 as a full-colour paperback. On 24 May 2025, Heroes For Sale will host the Dominion, Vol. 1 Book Launch from 10am to 2pm at 205 Symonds Street. The writer and artist herself will also be attending and signing books and A3 posters.
The series follows Desmond Oakenhart, a city guardsman who wants to help people – if only his wealthy family would stop getting involved. Yet, before they can convince him to leave the Guard for good, Desmond lucks his way onto a major investigation thanks to a chance encounter with a mysterious arsonist. Now under orders to work together to solve a string of murders, Desmond and the fiery vigilante Pasha follow the trail…but in a world where the divine is certain and infernal plots simmer, the trail might well lead to hell itself.
Ross Murray, NZ comic artist and author of Rufus Marigold, had the following praise for the series: “Dominion is a visually sumptuous piece of world-building and fantasy lore. memoh. is an award-winning digital artist and comiker based in Auckland, New Zealand. A professional graphic designer by day, she has crafted visual identities for numerous national and international brands. By night, her high-fantasy comic Dominion explores the battles caused by trauma, bias, and the seductive desire for control. She was awarded first prize in the Overload 2024 4-Koma Competition, and has received an Early Careers Fund grant from Creative NZ.
