Reflections, a collection of poems by David Briggs and photographs by JF Robert, will be launched at Page & Blackmore Booksellers, 254 Trafalgar Street, Nelson, on Thursday 11 February at 5.30 pm.

David Briggs and JF Robert met through their shared interest in the creative arts, and discovered that they brought different perspectives to the partnership. David found images and scope for imagining in words; JF in the more allusive languages of music and photography. This book is the product of their first collaboration and within it they exchange their differing perspectives. Rooted in the landscape, David’s poems tease you with the small jokes and ambiguities that life and the world may play – things seen or experienced that may have other meanings. Through the medium of water, JF’s pictures take you to the borderland between the abstract and the real, and invite you to look beyond the surface to search for deeper understanding.
