Cloud Ink Press invites you to a screening of the film Pride

Held at the Lido cinema on the 25th of August at 6.00pm with shared drinks from 5.30 onwards.

The featured movie: Pride. A 2014 historical comedy-drama in which a group of gay and lesbian activists supporting striking Welsh miners in Thatcher’s Britain are hampered by discrimination for their efforts.

Pride was screened in the prestigious Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for both a Golden Globe and a BAFTA award.

Proceeds from this screening will go toward publishing Cloud Ink Press’ first novel: A Striking Truth, by Helen McNeill, which shares the context of an industrial dispute, this time in New Zealand’s North Island in the 1980s where an entire town is drawn into the conflict when the paper mill’s workers go on strike.

Tickets for the movie night are $26 and include a complimentary glass of wine.
Come and meet the collective, mix, mingle, drink, talk about writers and writing and enjoy a good movie.
