In association with The Ngaio Marsh Awards, Nelson’s Elma Turner Library is hosting two crime writing-related events in July.
On Tuesday 12 July at 1 pm celebrated crime writer Alan Carter will be talking about becoming ‘The Accidental Crime Writer’. Alan won a Ned Kelly Award for his debut crime novel Prime Cut, featuring Chinese-Australian detective Cato Kwong. On Thursday 14 July at 6.15 pm Alan will be joined by two other New Zealand crime writers, Ben Sanders and Mike Ponder. Ben Sanders is in the running for the 2016 Ngaio Marsh Award. His debut novel The Fallen was a NZ bestseller, and his latest American Blood has caused ripples in the literary crime scene around the world. Mike Ponder is an acclaimed Marlborough artist, cattle breeder, winemaker, and author of two conspiracy thrillers in a planned trilogy. His latest is Four Kings.
