Poetry Live Presents:
Joshua Tepania & The Miracle Goatherders
Tuesday 23rd July at 8pm
Guest Poet:
Joshua Tepania
I was born and raised in Auckland city. I left school and I couldn’t read so I taught myself how to read by reading comic books for three years. My two main poetic inspirations are Tupac and Bob Marley because they are both lyrical geniuses. I became a poet because some online troll accused me of plagiarism so I started to write everything in rhyme. I noticed that I had real flair for putting complicated concepts into a simplistic form so it could all be assimilated by people easier. I went down the rabbit hole of spirit, psychology, philosophy, governmental practices and I wrote poetry about all of it. I’ve given away well over 1000 poems in my time because I felt that is way my way of helping the world. This will be the very first time that I stand in front of a crowd and speak the poetry that I love to write so much.
