NZSA Auckland Branch is proud to bring you the Literary Lounge Series this June and July.  At the ‘Graphic Representation’ event Zak Waipara and Li Chen discuss comics, illustration and animation.

Li Chen is an Auckland based comic artist and illustrator. Her main project is Extra Ordinary Comics – a surreal, slice of life webcomic based loosely on the adventures of comic-Li and a gang of animal pals. Li started her comic in 2009 and has been very fortunate to be able to work on comics and drawings full time since 2012. When she’s not busy doodling, Li can be found roaming the streets in search of friendly cats to pat.

Zak Waipara, (Rongowhakaata, Ngati Ruapani, Ngati Porou, Ngati Kahungunu), has worked in animation, written and drawn comics and illustrated a range of books. He is a lecturer in Digital Media at AUT and currently working on doctoral research in Art & Design.
