Come along on Monday 10 March to our next NZSA Wellington literary shindig – at a new venue, on a new day! To settle in to this new venue for our series of regular branch events for this year, we’re holding another of our ever-popular Open Mic Evenings.
We hope you can join us – to read, to listen, or both!
What: Open Mic Evening – all welcome, free event, light vege and vegan snacks provided; drinks (including low- and no-alcohol) available to purchase
Date: Monday 10 March 2025
Where: Waitoa Victoria St, 175 Victoria Street, Te Aro
Time: 5.30pm doors/sign-up, for a 6.00pm start
The event proper will run from 6.00–8.00pm, but please join us from 5.30pm to sign up for the open mic, or just to have a chat (and take advantage of Waitoa’s happy hour, 4 til 6).
Sign up on the night to read / perform. To secure your spot on the list, sign up between 5.30pm and 6pm. Readers should prepare a 5-minute reading. Poetry, prose, any genres and forms welcome.
With thanks to our hosts, Waitoa Victoria St.
Accessibility: Waitoa Victoria St is fully accessible (it’s also dog-friendly and child-friendly!). Please contact us beforehand if you have any questions.
Two paid parking spots restricted for mobility parking are located close to the door (outside Speedy Signs at 181 Victoria St, on the little feeder road/lane from Victoria to Ghuznee).
As always we welcome anyone who chooses to wear a mask, and we ask that if you are unwell you stay home and stay safe.
Transport and travel: Waitoa Victoria St is near the corner of Victoria and Ghuznee (close to where Left Bank pops out onto Victoria if you’re walking from Cuba Mall). Bus routes 7, 17 and 25 all travel along Victoria St (closest stops); other (including high frequency) routes stop on Manners Street. Paid street parking is available in the area, including on the little feeder road/lane from Victoria to Ghuznee.
