Join us on Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day, Friday 25 August 2023, at City Gallery Wellington for a celebration of poets and poems featured in, and inspired by, Wellington Writers Walk.
At this salon event on Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day we’ll announce the winners of our POETS ON THE WRITERS WALK 2023 competition, and award prizes. Our competition judge, Janis Freegard, will introduce and speak about the winning entries. We’ll invite readings from competition winners and entrants, and we’ll open the floor for an open mic – and welcome special guests.
As well as new poems, we’ll celebrate the poems and poets featured among the 23 typographical sculptures of our iconic waterfront Wellington Writers Walk – in its 21st year in 2023 – with readings from the sculptures, and visuals projected on screen.
