The Moth International Short Story Prize supports the work of short story writers through monetary awards and writing retreat opportunities.
The competition also includes the publication of award winning work, giving the writers in question a creative platform for their work.
2018 prizes:
- The first prize for this competition will be a monetary award worth €3,000.
- The second prize will be a week-long writing retreat at Circle of Misse in France. This prize includes a sum of €250 for the purposes of covering travel costs.
- The third prize is a monetary sum of €1,000.
The prize winning stories will also be published in The Moth.
This competition is open to anybody aged 18 and over who wishes to submit an original, previously unpublished short story. Applicants may submit as many stories as they wish. Entrants may be based anywhere in the world.

Entry fee is €12 per story
