The Proverse poetry prize (in association with the annual International Proverse Prize for unpublished book-length fiction, non-fiction or poetry, established in January 2008)

Annual International Competition open to all over eighteen years old.
Opening date: 30 June 2016. Closing Date: 31 July 2016

Details: Must be in English, your own work, previously unpublished and no more than 30 lines. (May be your own unpublished translation of your own poem already published in your mother tongue, if other than English.)

May be in any form, style or genre. Theme for 2016: “The Environment” interpreted as you wish, or on a subject of your own choice.

Entries will be judged at the same time as the Proverse Prize for book-length unpublished non-fiction, fiction or poetry.

1st prize; USD 100.00; 2nd prize: USD 45.00; 3rd prizes (up to four winners): USD 20.00.

If there are enough good entries, an anthology of prize-winners and selected other entries will be published. Those whose work is included may purchase the anthology at a discount (but are not obliged to do so).

Judges: anonymous (as for the Proverse Prize for an unpublished book-length work).

Max number of entries per person: No maximum.

Entry Fee: NZD 18.00 for each poem. (Other currencies available: GBP 8.00, USD 12.00, CAD 16.00, EUR 12.00, NZD 18.00, AUD 16.00, HKD 88.00.)

Proverse Hong Kong accepts submissions and payment of the entry fee for this competition exclusively through the online submission manager, submittable.com. We are not able, for this competition, to accept submissions via email or postal mail. (This is a different arrangement than for the Proverse Prize for an unpublished book-length work.)
