University Book Shop (Otago) Writer in Residence – deadline

University Book Shop (Otago) Ltd launched its inaugural Writer in Residence for an emerging writer last year. We were delighted to have Dr Hannah Bulloch join us for four weeks in February 2017.

Now it is time to find our second Summer Writer in Residence – is it you? Or perhaps someone you know?

For six weeks in January-February 2018 enjoy a weekly stipend, an office at the University Book Shop, access to University libraries as an honorary student at the 2018 Summer School, live in the rather lovely Robert Lord Writers’ Cottage…

The University Book Shop Summer Writer in Residence Award, in association with the Robert Lord Writers’ Cottage Trust, is open to emerging writers who are normally resident in New Zealand and write for adults, young adults or children. They may write in any genre including poetry, drama, fiction, narrative non-fiction, graphic novels, biography, autobiography, essays or literary criticism. It is based in Dunedin, New Zealand’s UNESCO City of Literature.
