Witi Ihimaera Speaks to Auckland Branch

Witi Ihimaera (Wh?nau a Kai, Ng?ti Porou, Rongowhakaata, Te Aitanga a M?haki) is the hard-working author of M?ori fictions, including Tangi, The Matriarch, Bulibasha, The Oarihaka Woman and Sleeps Standing. Four of his novels have been made into feature films; he co-produced two of them. His work includes a memoir series, M?ori Boy and the recently published Native Son, and he will begin his third, Indigenous Envoy, next year. He has also edited anthologies of work by M?ori Writers. He is patron of the 100 Books In Te Reo project, with four books to be released next year.

Witi joins us in November to talk about his latest memoir and his years living as a working writer.
