Writers get together in Motueka

Following the very successful inaugural get together in March we can, at last, resume proceedings. Our next event is Tuesday 28 July, 5 pm – 6.30 pm at Kylie’s Café, 400d High Street, Motueka. Kylie is kindly opening especially for us again, and will have food and drink available to buy. The guest speaker is Jaclyn Rosamond, author of contemporary fiction.

The agenda is: Welcome and housekeeping; Intro and icebreaker – Level 4 and you (max 2 mins per person, please); Jaclyn Rosamond’s talk and questions; Trouble-shooting – bring your questions/issues on anything, from that word you can’t locate to publishing, how to ignore the phone to how to keep your writing notes under control (and be prepared to share your experiences); Other thoughts/queries/sharing/helpful hints.

What should the group’s name be? The contenders so far are ‘Motueka Word Herders’, ‘Twiwriters’, ‘Motueka Story Tellers’, ‘Motueka Writers Anonymous’,  ‘Motueka Hacks’, ‘Motueka Pen-Pushers’, ‘Motueka Ink Slingers’ and ‘Writers Get- together’. There will also be a brief update re NZSA, and ideas for future speakers.

Please feel free to invite other writers to come along. To assist Kylie, please let Trish know if you will be attending: dunrban@xtra.co.nz
