Being inclusive is important, but how does it apply to writing? Discuss the hows, whens and whys of writing diverse characters.

Helen Vivienne Fletcher is a children’s and young adult author, storyteller and award-winning playwright from Wellington. Her most recent theatre work, Five Slices of Another Life, brought together five New Zealand playwrights to create new plays all featuring disabled characters. Tackling heavy subjects with a healthy dose of humour, Helen describes her style as “funny tragedy” and invites you to decide for yourself whether you want to laugh or cry.

Fee: NZSA Members – $35. (Non-members – $65)
