NATIONAL SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2020
run by the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Society of Authors.
Judges: Whiti Hereaka (Open) and Mandy Hager (Junior)
The competition has two sections:
JUNIOR: writers 18 years and younger
1st Prize – $150.00 in book tokens
2nd Prize – $100.00 in book tokens
3rd Prize – $50.00 in book tokens
Word length: 1,000 words maximum
Entry: Free
OPEN: All writers over 18 years
1st Prize – $300.00 book tokens, $150 cash
2nd Prize – $200.00 book tokens $100 cash
3rd Prize – $100.00 book tokens $50 cash
Word length: 1,500 words maximum
Entry fee: $20
Entries must be received by 30th September 2020
