Judith Binney Fellowship and Writing Awards

Applications are open

Applications close 25 August 2023

This is a reminder that applications for the 2024 Judith Binney Fellowship and Writing Awards close in 3 week’s time at 5pm on Friday 25 August 2023.

The purpose of the Judith Binney Trust is to support rigorous and imaginative scholarship of the kind that characterised Judith Binney’s historical writing. The Fellowships and Writing Awards support research and writing on New Zealand history or associated topics. This might include: social history; women’s history; Māori history and tradition; recent economic or political history; and historical interests arising from New Zealand archaeology, anthropology, and material culture.

Full details are available on the JBT website: https://judithbinneytrust.org.nz

On the website you will also find some answers to Frequently Asked Questions, such as ‘what is the difference between Fellowships and Awards’, and ‘is Māori history the only focus of the Fellowship?’

We would be grateful if you would circulate this information to the people in your organisation or networks who might be interested in applying.
