Languages of Aotearoa anthology deadline extended through July 15.
Extended to midnight, Friday 15 July 2022 A new volume of micro fictions celebrating languages of Aotearoa! National Flash Fiction Day celebrates 10 years: 2012-2022. This year we will publish an anthology of microfictions with the theme ‘Languages of Aotearoa’. This is an open call for submissions for all citizens and residents of Aotearoa New Zealand. We are looking for work from writers with bilingual and multilingual origins/ experiences. The book will include two kinds of micros and prose poems: * works, with translation into English, up to 100 words * works that are translingual, using English plus other languages to tell the story. There are more than 40 languages spoken across Aotearoa – and we invite these voices to sing out! Submissions open through Friday 15 July 2022. What to send: A microfiction of approximately 100 words (allowing variation across languages); 2 submissions allowed from each author How to submit: Send an email with your set of micros to flashfrontier@gmail.com – and please write in the subject line: MICRO ANTHOLOGY SUBMISSION Please ensure quality across your languages.
