In 2021, NonfictioNOW takes a new form—adapting to the realities of the COVID pandemic while retaining its spirit and integrity. Despite a pandemic, we are still planning a fantastic event.
We have entered the next stage of our calls of participants.
Continuing the successful tradition of roundtables begun at the 2017 NonfictioNOW conference in Reykjavik, and continued in Phoenix in 2018, NonfictioNOW 2021 Aotearoa is pleased to announce another series of open discussions, which for th
e Asia-Pacific region we are calling hui.
Some of the Hui (roundtables) will be held in person; the majority will be digital. These will be 75-minute facilitated discussions, ideally in groups of between six and 16. We see this as a wonderful opportunity, in a COVID-constrained world, to meet, converse and share ideas with a small group of peers either locally, or from around the world.
Our hui this year will focus on the below topics. If you would like to participate, please submit a paper of up to 500 words by 27 September using the appropriate google form linked below. The 500 word pieces from successful applicants will be circulated and read by those involved in each hui before the conference
If space is an issue, priority will be given to those not already on panels. You can put in a proposal for up to 1 in-person hui (where appropriate, noting that New Zealand’s international borders are currently closed) and 1 digital hui.
