Entry is open to all who are at least 18 years old, whatever their place of birth, residence, nationality or citizenship.

New, emerging and experienced writers are all warmly invited to participate.

1) The Proverse Prize for single-author book-length fiction, non-fiction, or poetry (founded 2008) offers a cash prize and publication.

2) The Proverse Poetry Prize for single poems (founded 2016) offers cash prizes and anthology publication.

New Zealand writers and poets have been consistently successful in each of the two competitions.

These include, for the Proverse Prize and Publication Prizes: Laura Solomon, Hayley Ann Solomon, Dami Jung and James Norcliffe. Vaughan Rapatahana won the inaugural Proverse Poetry Prize (single poems) and several others have been successful in winning cash prizes and places in the Proverse Prize anthology series, Mingled Voices.
