Short Story competition judges, writers Harry Ricketts and Rebecca Reilly, announced the five winners of the 2022 Nine to Noon Short Story competition.
Over 550 stories were submitted to the competition.
Harry Ricketts said it was “an impressive standard of stories in a wide range of settings”. Rebecca Reilly said there was a great breadth of stories, from realism to science fiction to biography.
Congratulations to the judge’s top five writers:
Sionainn Mentor King with Blood Flowers
Barbara Else with Collateral Damage
Jacqui Wood with Jamal’s Peach
Shadi Salepour with On Sunday
Mark Curragh with Choose Your Wave
These stories will be adapted for radio and broadcast on Nine to Noon the week beginning 21 November 2022.
