Congratulations to the inaugural winners of the Theatremakers Award, Ayush Aditya and Marcus Savelio. Their new work Mic Drop will receive development support from Playmarket over the coming months.

Mic Drop is a new hip-hop musical which premiered as part of the NZ Fringe Festival in February of this year. It uses rap as a vehicle to explore arrogance, ego and social power dynamics. Judges were excited by its theatricality and wicked sense of humour.
