OneTree House reveal 2018 catalogue

In May 2017 OneTree House announced the formation of a new, New Zealand children’s publisher and today reveal their 2018 catalogue here.

The titles emanate from a wealth of award-winning talent, and present picture books, junior fiction, middle fiction and young adult novels, from authors such as Kyle Mewburn, Mary-anne Scott, Brian Falkner, Tina Shaw, Sherryl Jordan, Diana Menefy and Tanya Batt.

OneTree House demonstrates a commitment to publishing in te Reo Maori and a raft of community languages that reflect the needs of our multilingual classrooms, libraries and homes. As well as new titles combining English and te Reo Maori, the list includes a series of picture books each in 5 bilingual editions. These New Zealand classics by Kyle Mewburn and Pamela Allen will now appear in formats with English and any of Samoan, Tongan, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Korean or Simplified Chinese.  OneTree House will be working with the NZ Society of Translators to achieve quality re-tellings.

The list also has books for the education sector with bilingual non-fiction titles on a range of countries, and a social sciences resource authored by Mandy Hager – Hindsight: Pivotal Moments in NZ History.

Say Dale & Nagle from OneTree House:
We are excited to present the list we have curated for 2018. It showcases our commitment to publishing quality New Zealand writing for children and young adult readers.  We hope our belief in inclusion and equity shines through the choice of new titles, as well as re-presenting NZ classics to a new audience. Our books cover a wide range of subjects and situations for pre-school to high-school and this 2018 selection shows the diversity and emphases of the OneTree House flavour”.
