VENUE: Clock Tower Boardroom
Free
Join author Maria Gill for a cup of tea and an interactive session on her latest project, a children’s novel about the life of Ernest Rutherford.
Maria is currently one of our artists in residence at The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora and is finding inspiration for her new book by living and working within the walls where Rutherford first studied and experimented!
She is delighted to be resident here for the 150th anniversary of Rutherford’s birth.
The session is free of charge, but bookings are advisable. It will be held in the boardroom on the first floor of the Clock Tower at 6pm on Wednesday 1st September.
Maria is a Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland-based children’s book writer and educator and has published numerous titles about historical heroes. She was awarded the 2020 Margaret Mahy Medal for lifetime achievement and significant contribution to children’s literature and literacy.
